It is advised to obtain this equipment as soon as possible. Without the Blade Runners, the fall damage is capped at 97 instead. It lets you preserve the anti-gravity aspect of a funnel outside of it, allowing you to basically fly anywhere you want. It also increases jump height to 6m and jump length to 40m (on the first slide jump) respectively 48m (on each consecutive slide jump).īlade Runners cap the maximum fall damage at 96 health points or 9.6 health segments. Crouch Flying Glitch (also known as CFG, Funnel Fly, Excursion Funnel Glitch or ExFu Glitch) is a glitch found the day Portal 2 was released. For additional speed you can perform a slide jump atop a conveyor belt moving in the same direction. You can use it to cut corners or even go reverse if performed correctly. peek through blue portal and crouch-jump to the the lift. #Portal 2 crouch jump verification#This seems to bring up "walking" speed to almost 25m/s (further verification required), but as mentioned, only works up to a small incline (comparable to an 8x1 ramp). then shoot an orange portal at it, and see that game auto-corrected its placement and put it. Run straight ahead → perform a crouch-jump → at the last moment before hitting the ground while still in the air crouch again to activate sliding on landing and immediately jump again. You can chain slide jumps together (which only works on flat surfaces up to very slight slopes) to achieve significant on-foot speed: I use crouch boosting to make sure I have enough speed, then spam jump on the blue. To achieve a higher jump, slide before jumping. And anyone who contributed to finding Portal 2 routes/tricks/glitches. #Portal 2 crouch jump Patch#Maybe the next mapping challenge should be about teaching a specific technique.* Note: Fall damage test has to be redone, as in Patch 0.3.1.0 fall damage was made "more linear", which may affect breaking points stated above. #Portal 2 crouch jump how to#So since crouch-jump wasn't used in the Basic Portal or the challenge levels is there a good way to communicate to the player how to use this maneuver properly? In fact Valve DOES describe the dimensions the various maneuvers can cover: #Portal 2 crouch jump code#It's been in the engine code since Half Life. I understand a lot of people feel it's a legitimate maneuver. CrouchJump creates tools to help creators, influencers, streamers, businesses, and brands build a personalized, direct, and authentic relationship with their audience. I rarely use it unless I can't figure out another way. Jump/Crouch isn't part of my normal moves. Twenty-five people are killed and over a dozen others are injured when a bus falls from a mountainous road into a gorge in Uttarakhand, India. Well, I've been playing Half Life since it first came out, and I play TF2. One person is killed and 2 others are injured by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake in Piura, Peru. Quote from Tigger on February 16, 2008, 4:03 pm I wouldn't consider a strafe jump legitimate either, even though you were pretty much required to do it in order to get gold on challenge room 17. That just shouldn't be required as most people don't even know about it, nor would they be able to figure it out on their own. I've played a couple maps that required that wall climbing technique where you take an object and grab/jump at the same time to float to the top. The only techniques I wouldn't consider legitimate are ones that require to you glitch the game it some way. It would probably make a map harder for me if it required me NOT to crouch jump. It's actually like an automatic reflex for me. Quote from Deviant on February 15, 2008, 10:06 pm atleast one little ledge, that the ONLY way to bypass by jumping and crouching should be in a map (or atleast the first of a series of maps) if that mapper expects a person to know how to do it. the reason its not trained in portal is cuz its not needed. HOWEVER its not in portal, and portal very well could be the FIRST AND ONLY game a person has ever played, not likely, but possible. I agree "shift to crouch" IS all the training one needs.
